ONLINE: 4 Divine Abodes in Challenging Times: A 1-Day Silent Retreat

with Rev. Liên Shutt

As we continue to endeavor in creating a just and liberatory world in these shifting times, the teachings on the 4 Divine Abodes can help us stay centered and connected.

Qualities of Kindness, Compassion, Inclusive Joy, and Equanimity can be hard to access when there’s internal or worldly turmoil. Practicing these Abodes as guided meditations helps us to know them — for ourselves and to be able to send out to others.

Join for the full day or come in/out as you’re able. There will be short teachings and 2 short meditations per Abode quality. However, please try to TIME your entering/exiting to coincide with scheduled times to allow for the event manager to be able to participate also.

NOTE: Teachings on each Divine Abode are only at the times marked. Therefore, if possible, please join at the beginning for the Introductions & 1st Teachings to get the full sense of how these are best practiced. ALL Meditations are visualized guided meditations. The 2nd in each Abode section will be mostly silent for your own personalization. Full schedule provided to registered participants.

Registered participants will receive a link to join us via Zoom with their Confirmation Email from EventBrite.

Mindful Prosperity: Abundance in Community

with Fresh Lev White & Imee Contreras

What would our practice and lives look like if we believed we were worthy of living abundantly? Can the Brahma Viharas support us in acknowledging that we are deserving and help us release fear and aversion of living prosperously? Imagine equanimity as a practice of manifestation that offers a gift of non-clinging; and include love, compassion and the possibility of more ease.

Through meditation, writing, and visioning, will explore our relationship with wealth, distinguish the difference between desire and greed, and discuss the gifts of generosity. We will participate in small and large group shares, as well as offer accessible movement.

Space is limited and registration is requested.

Liberation: A True Refuge

A seeker’s path to healing and awakening

For LGBTQIA Identified

with Carol Cano

“Freedom is not given to us by anyone; we have to cultivate it ourselves. It is a practice.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

This three-week series will give a basic understanding and overview of the essential Buddhist teachings and practices of mindfulness meditation. We will explore a cross-cultural approach to Queer spirituality by braiding our dharma practice with indigenous wisdom and develop a trusting relationship with the Great mystery of life.

We will practice deepening our relationship with intentional community and integrate practices in Nature. We will also build an altar that represents our teachers of past, present and future each time we meet.  In the beginning of the class we will create an altar of freedom fighters, teachers of the heart and wisdom holders from our community. Each time we break the altar down we will acknowledge how precious life is and connect with our purpose in life.

We are not alone on this seeker’s path to Liberation.
