Friends of EBMC Monthly Giving Program

The teachings of the Buddha emphasized that generosity is essential to the process of spiritual awakening. Here at EBMC, our Gift Economics model gives us the opportunity to sustain our center through our practice of generosity. One of the best ways to support this Sangha is by becoming a Friend of EBMC monthly donor.

Recurring donations are especially helpful because we can rely on the regular stream of income and know that our programs will be supported long term.  Because of this, we are able to offer programs that are aligned with our values of radical inclusivity and social justice, and meet the needs of our community, without concern that our costs must be covered solely by donations at events.

More than 400 EBMC teachers, members of the LSangha (our board), and sangha members from the Bay Area and other parts of the world participate in our monthly giving program. This group of Friends of EBMC play a crucial role in the success of our Gift Economics approach to sustainability, and we invite you to join them at the highest level you are able for the benefit of all!

The practice of Gift Economics is based on proportionality and transparency, where everyone gives according to their ability and where the needs of the center and the teachers are stated in a clear manner. The numbers below are based on these principles, where suggested donation amounts are calculated based on the center’s operating needs and adjusted to donors’ annual income ranges. Your generosity to sustain the center and these offerings helps us create healing spaces that embody radical inclusivity and equitable access for our sangha.
