“Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within”. – James Baldwin
The focus of this daylong is an ongoing exploration of deepening intimacy with ourselves, others, and all of life. It is open to all self-identified LGBTQ & gender non-conforming practitioners. We invite people to stay for the entire day. Beginners are always welcome!
Intimacy in relationships requires dialogue, transparency, vulnerability and reciprocity. Courage and tenderness are necessary as well. Pena Chodron has said, “The only reason we don’t open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don’t feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else’s eyes.”
During the day periods of movement and quiet meditation with instruction are offered as well as a mindfulness talk, dialogue, and relational exercises. Remember as Maya Angelou has said,
“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at it destination full of hope”.
