Season of Gratitude 2024: Riya’s EBMC Story
Dear Sangha Friend,
This is the last chance to give to our Season of Gratitude 2024 campaign! Your support helps sustain EBMC as a sanctuary of healing, connection, and resilience for all who need it.
Today, we’re honored to share Riya’s story—a journey of finding refuge at EBMC during moments of struggle and transformation.
“I was growing overwhelmed with the reality of the world, feeling despair and seeking solutions to end suffering—but really ignorant of how to end the suffering inside of me. I remember seeing an art graphic that read, ‘Resilience, Refuge, Revolution.’ There was some magic there that settled me, even just for a few moments.”
Riya first came to EBMC as an undergraduate student and later found strength through EBMC’s virtual spaces during the pandemic. This year, as part of Commit2Sangha, Riya discovered a deeper sense of healing, community, and connection:
“At a time when I was working to heal many traumas, Commit2Sangha taught me about inclusivity, forgiveness, honesty, community, love, and spiritual friendship. EBMC has been a stronghold in my personal path of healing and growth.”
Riya’s journey is a beautiful reflection of what your support makes possible. EBMC is more than a meditation center—it’s a refuge for those seeking hope, grounding, and liberation during uncertain times.
