PiTA 2.0 is a 6-month, in-person program at EBMC facilitated by past PiTA Apprentice Teachers, endorsed by Founding Teacher Mushim Ikeda. We seek to empower our participants to integrate mindfulness & Buddhist principles into social justice work through healing, practice, & community.

Are you passionate about mindfulness, social justice, and collective healing? East Bay Meditation Center invites you to apply for PiTA 2.0 (Practice in Transformative Action)—a powerful 6-month in-person program rooted in Buddhist wisdom and liberation.

Designed for organizers, educators, cultural workers, healers or others engaged in transformative action, PiTA 2.0 will equip you with:

Program Objectives:

  • Facilitate mindfulness practices including mindful eating, metta, movement, self-compassion, and stationary practices.
  • Embody and share how Buddhist principles strengthen personal resilience and social justice movements.
  • Co-create spaces for healing, transformation, and beloved community.
  • Apply and share mindfulness-informed strategies to build non-violent, joyful, and liberatory relationships and systems.
  • Engage and be inspired by the intergenerational PiTA network past and present.
