“Hatred never ceases through hatred but by love alone is healed. This is the ancient and eternal law.” Dhammapada
Racism and white supremacy culture are deeply embedded in the U.S. penal system, as well as in our own hearts and minds. Rather than providing protection and safety, the penal system damages the humanity of all involved, and violently reinforces racial hierarchies. Through information, practice and reflection, we will invite participants toward greater awareness of the wounds of separation that are imposed by our cooperation with this aspect of white supremacy culture, and the practices that can move us instead toward healing. This daylong is designed for white people who have not had much direct contact with the penal system, and are seeking greater understanding and pathways to skillful action to create a more just and equitable society.
Registered participants will receive a link to join us via Zoom with their EventBrite confirmation email.
