SUMMARY:Kapwa Flow for Alphabet Sangha (Movement Class)
DESCRIPTION:Led by Jessy Zapanta \nKapwa means “togetherness” in Tagalog. Kapwa Flow invites you to embody what collective liberation might feel like\, healing through self-care and energetic connection. Jessy will begin circle with a check in to support access needs and individual requests\, followed by a grounding opening meditation. You will then be guided through a customized flow of trauma-releasing movements\, self-focused bodywork\, and stationary practices based on your personal capacity. Since class is dependent on the combined needs of participants\, no two sessions are the same. All movements can be done sitting\, lying down\, or standing up. Tuesday practice centers queer and trans experiences\, all bodies and minds. Mindful allies are welcome. \nDrop In Format. No Registration Required. Please Dress Comfortably.

SUMMARY:Honoring the Six Directions: Buddhist Teachings on Relationship and Community
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Sean Feit Oakes \nIn a beautiful and famous discourse\, the Sigālaka Sutta\, the Buddha taught a framework for building and sustaining healthy communities. He used the model of the Six Directions\, where the practitioner thinks of themself in a web of relationships: with their parents (east)\, teachers (south)\, partner and family (west)\, friends and colleagues (north)\, employees and dependents (below)\, and religious renunciates and charities (above). Reflecting on our place in this maṇḍala of interdependence cultivates gratitude\, generosity\, healing\, ethics\, and social engagement\, strengthening the bonds of beloved community through honoring the gifts and challenges of each type of relationship. \nSpace is limited and registration is requested.  \n \n  \nCost: There is no registration fee for attending this event\, nor most EBMC events. However\, EBMC is not independently funded. The Center and the teachers will be sustained only by your voluntary donations (the practice of generous giving\, or “dana”). Please donate generously\, in proportion to your ability: \n* Either online (you will be offered an opportunity during the online registration process to donate to EBMC; the teachers will not receive any part of this online donation).\n* Or at the event\, in the two baskets at EBMC\, one for the Center\, the second for the Teacher. \nThank you for your generosity. EBMC will be only be sustained through our collective generosity. \nFragrance-free: In order to protect the health of community members with environmental illness\, please do not wear fragranced products (including “natural” fragrances) or clothes laundered in fragranced products to EBMC. \nEBMC is wheelchair accessible.

SUMMARY:ONLINE: Multiracial Peer-Led Deep Refuge Group
DESCRIPTION:The Multiracial Deep Refuge Group is a monthly exploratory Deep Refuge Group for and by people who identify as multiracial. Our meetings include periods of mindfulness meditation and sharing of narratives and perspectives as we come together to be seen and to see one another. SUMMARY:Path of the Bodhisattva Precepts Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:with Mushim Ikeda \nI\, myself\, took the Bodhisattva Vows and made the vow\, “Life after life\, after life\, after life\, I will continue my practice and continue my work.” – Bhante Suhita Dharma\, Buddhist monk and social worker\, 1941-2013 \nIn Mahayana Buddhism\, the Bodhisattva is an archetypal great being who tirelessly and joyfully works to liberate all beings from suffering. For the second time\, EBMC will offer two class series exploring what it means to creatively embody the Bodhisattva teachings. Those who complete both class series may participate in the final daylong and either witness or take Bodhisattva precepts and vows in order to strengthen their commitment to collective liberation. These are the same vows taken by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Those who do not wish to take the Bodhisattva vows may take either of the two class series. Meditation (instruction provided for beginners)\, Dharma talks\, and interactive exercises. \nSpace is limited and registration is requested. \n \nCost: There is no registration fee for attending this event\, nor most EBMC events. We are committed to creating a diverse family sangha\, all families are welcomed. No prior experience is necessary. \nPlease note\, each family only needs one registration. Thank You! \n \nCost: There is no registration fee for attending this event\, nor most EBMC events. SUMMARY:Beyond the Binary: Mindfulness of Gender
DESCRIPTION:with Bri Barnett\, Louije Kim\, JD Doyle and René Rivera\nOpen to All *and* we extend a special invitation to those who identity as non-binary\, gender nonconforming and their allies. \n  \nGender identities and presentations profoundly impact all areas of our lives providing us both joy and difficulties.  How do we create communities that are open to all genders and learn how to navigate the complexities of gender? During this day of practice we will investigate how cultural\, historical\, and familial conditioning around gender impact us as individuals and as communities. Through meditations and interactive activities\, we will explore gender\, in order  to nurture a world that is founded in inclusivity and freedom for all. \nSpace is limited and registration is requested.  \n \nCost: There is no registration fee for attending this event\, nor most EBMC events. However\, EBMC is not independently funded. The Center and the teachers will be sustained only by your voluntary donations (the practice of generous giving\, or “dana”).
